About the Journal

PEER-REVIEWING POLICY

All submissions to Transactions on Computational Modelling and Intelligent Systems (TCMIS) must be prepared according to the journal’s Author Guidelines and submitted via the TCMIS online submission system. Upon submission, the corresponding author will receive an acknowledgment email along with a unique manuscript ID, which should be used in all future correspondence related to the manuscript.

Initial Screening and Plagiarism Check
All submitted manuscripts undergo a preliminary technical check by the editorial office. This includes a plagiarism screening using iThenticate. Manuscripts with a similarity index exceeding 25% will not proceed to the next stages (returned to the authors without further review). Authors will be notified of this decision and encouraged to revise and resubmit if appropriate.

Editorial Evaluation
Following a successful plagiarism check, manuscripts are evaluated by the Editor-in-Chief for relevance to the journal’s scope, originality, technical quality, and scientific contribution. Submissions that are out of scope, lack novelty, or are too preliminary may be desk-rejected without entering the peer-review process.

Peer-Reviewers
If found suitable, the manuscript is assigned to an Associate Editor who oversees the peer review. The Associate Editor selects at least two independent reviewers, based on subject, avoiding any potential conflicts of interest. TCMIS follows a single-blind peer review process, where reviewers remain anonymous, but author identities may be known to them.

Reviewers are typically given four weeks to complete their evaluation. Extensions may be possible in certain circumstances. Reviews are expected to assess the scientific quality, methodological rigor, clarity, and contribution of the manuscript. Upon receipt of the reviews, the Associate Editor makes a recommendation to the Editor-in-Chief, who communicates the editorial decision to the authors along with the reviewers' comments.

Revision and Resubmission
If authors are asked for a revision, the revised manuscript must be submitted along with a detailed response letter addressing each reviewer's comment, and an annotated/highlighted version of the manuscript (where changes are marked or highlighted) within the given time period (typically two months of receiving the decision). Authors may request an extension if needed. Failure to do so may result in the manuscript being rejected or considered as a new submission.

Any change in authorship during the revision stage must be justified in writing, and written consent from all current and proposed authors must be provided. The revised submission is re-evaluated by the Associate Editor and the original reviewers; and the final decision (acceptance or rejection) is given by the Editor-in-Chief.

Post-Acceptance Processing
Upon acceptance, an acceptance letter is sent to the corresponding author. Authors are then asked to submit the final source files (in Word or LaTeX format) using the TCMIS publication template. No changes in authorship or manuscript content are permitted after this stage.

The manuscript is then passed to the Copyeditor for any linguistic and formatting corrections. Authors are given up to one week to respond to copyediting queries and finalize minor corrections. The galley proofs are typeset by the Layout Editor and sent to the authors for a final check. Authors are not allowed to make any substantial changes at this stage and are expected to return the corrected proofs within 48 hours, (making only typographical or formatting corrections).

Following this, the paper is assigned a DOI, published online, and listed in the upcoming journal issue. The final version is submitted to relevant indexing databases for archiving and dissemination when the issue is complete.
